Role: Service Diesel Technician – Heavy Equipment Repair
Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Heavy Equipment Service Technician for a shop-based role in a well-equipped service facility. This position focuses on the diagnosis, repair, and preventive maintenance of heavy-duty off-road construction equipment, including loaders, excavators, and backhoes.
The ideal candidate brings hands-on experience with diesel engines, hydraulic systems, powertrains, and electrical/electronic systems specific to heavy equipment. This role is designed for technicians with heavy equipment repair experience and offers long-term stability, ongoing training, and the opportunity to work with a growing organization.
Compensation:
Starting at $35.00/hr and up, based on experience

Job Responsibilities
- Diagnose and repair heavy equipment systems including diesel engines, hydraulics, powertrains, fuel systems, and electrical components
- Participate in annual technician evaluations designed to assess skill development and provide opportunities for advancement and compensation increases
Perform preventive maintenance, inspections, and advanced diagnostics
Remove, install, and rebuild major components with minimal supervision
Utilize diagnostic tools, OEM service manuals, and schematics to complete accurate repairs
Document all repairs and maintenance through detailed service reports
Maintain a clean, organized, and safety-focused work environment
Safely operate and maneuver equipment within the service facility
Participate in OEM and regional technical training as required
Qualifications
2+ years of hands-on experience repairing heavy equipment or construction machinery required
Experience with OEM brands such as Takeuchi, Link-Belt, Bell, Volvo, Hyundai, CAT, or similar preferred
Strong working knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulic systems, and electrical/mechanical diagnostics
Ability to provide a personal basic tool set
Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
Technical school diploma in Diesel or Heavy Equipment Repair preferred (relevant experience accepted in lieu of formal education)
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, team-oriented shop environment
Strong attention to detail with proven troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
